5-2 in G.O.D.'s now after the Angles blew numerous chances to win last night.
Rangers/D-Rays Over 9.5 -112
Valdez/Gonzalez
This is a play based on the recent pithcing of tonights two starters. The Texas Rangers send Ismael Valdez to the hill tonight at Tropicana Field. Valdez has had a terrible year going 7-6 with a 6.22 era. But he has been even worse, if you can believe that, in his last 5 starts. Valdez is 1-4 with a 10.57 era...thats right 10.57...in his last 5 outings. He has given up 27 ER's in his last 23 innings. He has no easy task tonight as the Deveil Rays youngsters can put some runs across the plate. On the other side, the Devil Rays send Jeremy Gonzalez to the hill against an explosive Rangers lineup which scored 12 ruuns last night. Gonzalez has had a mediocre (at best) season. He has 3-4 with a 4.11 era. But just like Valdez, Gonzalez has been bad of late. In his last 4 starts he is 0-2 with a 6.09 era. He is strikeout-walk-ratio is about even. That is never a good stat for a pitcher. In his only start (a win) against Texas on May 28th, Gonzalez gave up 4 ER and 4 BB's in just 5 innings of work. Not a good performance. And when you are not on your game against a lineup like the Rangers, you will be in for a short night.
With the way these 2 pitchers have been throwing of late I can see a 12-9 type of ball game. Both teams should get on base often via the walk as well. This game should go over the 9.5 total. Heck! Both teams can score more than 9 runs alone themselves.
